A long, hard night

Ned Collier Wakefield and Sam Goodchild are still holding onto second position after a long, hard night with lots of squalls. We heard from Sam this morning and he said that it had been another night of fast sailing and they were hoping to dry out later. Several boats, including ERDF, have taken a more southerly course than Concise and Aquarelle, we will see how that decision pans out over the coming hours.

In the other classes, it has been a dramatic night for the Mutli50s, three boats - Prince de Bretagne, FenetreA Cardinal and Crepes Whaou! have been forced to abandon the race. This leaves just two multihulls heading for Costa Rica.

In the IMOCA Class Alex Thomson's Hugo Boss is now in third and Mike Golding's Gamesa is in 9th.
