Very bumpy, wet and fast first 24 hours

Within the last few minutes we've heard from Sam Goodchild onboard Concise. He said it's been a very bumpy, wet and fast first 24hours in the TJV for Concise. All is well onboard and he and Ned Collier Wakefield are trying hard to keep dry!

Concise is currently in second place in the Class 40 fleet, just 4.4 miles behind the leaders on Aquarelle.

Two of the other Class 40 boats have been forced to turn back to France. Lecoq Cuisine has abandoned the TJV after skipper, Eric Lecoq reported suffering with serious back pains. He and his co-skipper are now heading to Brest.

Earlier this afternoon Thierry Bouchard and Gilles Berenger on Comiris diverted to France due to delamination on a bulkhead.

One of the Multi 50s, Monopticien, with brothers, Julien and Etienne Mabit has also now abandoned the race.
